Most certainly, both good and bad.  Unless, you are someone who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease.  I watched my Godmother go from a loving, happy, person to one who didn't even know her own name, never mind her own children or family.  She withered away to nothing (68 lbs. when she passed), and died completely alone with no memories at all.

There are those memories that you would like to hold on to forever, and there are those memories that you would like to forget.

My grandmother has been gone 23 years (she died in 1989) but I hold on to those precious memories because of my love for her.  I remember that she passed on her love of the news to me.  She would tell me to wake her up when the news came on, but she would somehow sleep past it.  I remember her love for cats; she would leave home with nothing and return with a kitten.  I remember she wanted me to have a good education because she was not going to be here always and wanted me not to have to depend on others for what I wanted or needed.  I am going to school right now, and I know she is smiling down on me.
