My son had this after he was born. The medicine his doctor didn't work either. We went through two rounds of it. Finally the doctor gave him a different medicine. I can't remember what it was called. She covered the inside of his mouth with it. It turned his mouth purple, but it worked. It was gone in a day or two.

Hang in there, sometimes it takes time for it to work, why don't you go back to the doctor for a different med?

If the medications do not work, talk to your doctor again. If after changing medications there is still no improvements, then... it is time to change doctors and see a specialist.

My daughter has had thrush at least a dozen times. I can be hard to get rid of and most of the time it will return. It's pretty scary looking but I'm sure his pedatrition will get it taken care of.

I've been lucky with my three to have never developed thrush. In fact all three of them, my husband and myself have used nasal sprays and inhalers that offer suggestions on to prevent it so it's amazing none of us have had an outbreak.  My Mom would say use salt water.  I have no idea how you would do that with an infant though.  You and your child's pediatrician are probably going to have to try something else.  I hope it clears up soon.

My daughter had thrush when she was just a few weeks old (27 years ago).  Of course, I freaked (the first of many times to come...) since I was a new mother and had never heard of thrush.  Praisingly, the medication her pediatrician prescribed did the job and it went away.  I pray for a speedy recovery.
Have a wonderful day!
