Not that I can see.  I am fighting it though.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but if you have a publix near you, they have coupons all the time where you can get a $50 gas card for $40 if you buy $50 worth of groceries.   I combine that with the fuel rewards network and wait until both my son and I are at just over 1/4 tank of gas and fill both cars up.   Yesterday, we saved $2.15 a gallon, and used the $50 gas card to fill both cars up.  It came to $27.19 for 20 gallons of gas, and that will last us almost two weeks.  We still have $22.81 on the card (that cost $40.00), and will earn more fuel rewards before we are ready to fill up again.

Optiwoman really did her research in bringing down her gas costs! We have the kroger system where I live and my daughter is in competitive soccer.  If we buy a kroger gift card ten percent of it goes to my daughters soccer expenses. Using certain gas stations allows us a ten cent per gallon discount when using our kroger card so instead of paying three dollars and fourty nine cents per gallon we pay three dollars and thirty nine cents per gallon and roughly thrity four cents of that goes back to my daughter's soccer expenses giving us an effective cost of three dollars and five cents per gallon.  We car pool so that we minimize our economic foot print and ride our bikes when the weather is nice.

Gas prices really hurt these days, but there aren't many alternatives, especially where I live.
