I use Straight Talk and I must say they are actually quite well. They are powered through Tracfone but they use some of the best networks out there. Currently mine is through Verizon. I have been out in the boondocks and have managed to have at least one bar whereas my boyfriend or my sister have none. I love my Straight Talk phone and will never switch back to paying $125 a month for one phone and crappy service. I love that I pay $45 a month for unlimited data, text, and talk AND have great service. Plus you can choose from any number of phones like LG, Samsung, Nokia etc. They also have a wide variety of smartphones. You don't have to have a dumb phone or a clunky dinosaur like with most prepaids. In fact, my family has seen how much I save with my phone that they have switched as well. Hope this helps ;}}

It does help, thanks for sharing!

I am currently with sprint and have unlimited everything for around $70 which isnt bad at all, but i cant help but think about how nice it would be to shave that down to straight talks $45... I just need to hear good stuff about it, lol.

Yeah, Straight Talk is awesome. Since smartphones are the way to go in today's society I thought I'd throw something else out there. Straight Talk also has over 50,000 free apps to choose from. I know it's not nearly as many as Apple but you can't beat that price--- FREE!!

I have looked into it but do not use it. I think they have probably the best service for the price. Thats what all the major phone companies need to do.

I have a Tracfone and I get better service for a lot less than most of my friends phones who pay those high monthly fees.  Sounds like Straight works along those lines too.  Might just check into that also.  We'll see.....

Do you have to buy a phone that goes with the straight talk plan, or can you use a smartphone you already have?  I would love to cut my phone bill but do not want to sacrifice service or have to buy another phone.

No, you can use just about any phone you want really, however you have to use a Straight Talk SIM card with they're data, etc. however, like I said, they have a wide variety of phones to choose from. They do not, however, accept iPhone right now.... I think...? They have the Samsung Galaxy smart phones though and I hear people prefer it to the iPhone. :))

Remember when you buy the phone to ask if it has Verizon, or Spirit, I think they also have any AT&T one.  I had one that had Sprint on it, that one does not pick up good in my area.

I want to change my phone plan but, i wanted to keep my number.  Been having it along time and did not want to give it up.   But, the fees keep going up and I am seriously thinking about changing.

I have had both tracfone and straight talk. In fact we are utilizing them both now.  I have tracfone and my husband has straight talk.  Our neigbors have t-mobile and because of where we live we both have problems with service inside our apartment.  We step outside and it's fine.  I live in a rural community and there are some drop spots that occur with both straight talk and trac but when I was on Sprint and my sister had some other service??? We both ran into the same problem no matter what network.  I am an anti contract girl when it comes to phones and the flexibility, affordability, availability and reliability all just makes sense with straight talk/tracfones.

My husband and I both have Trac  phone and we both love it. It's lots cheaper for us and doesn't have a monthly bill.

I've been with Straight Talk since 2009. I have a touch screen Samsung phone.  I get unlimited internet, texts, and calls for $45 per month.  It's like $50.71 when they add the tax on.

I have had straight-talk for going on 3 years and it is excellent - you can't beat the plans and the price and the service is great.  The only complaint anyone in my family has is my mom doesn't have a smartphone so she has to use directory assistance when she's out and it sucks but we have no complaints otherwise.

We switched to Straight Talk after getting robbed through Verizon. Come to find out, the Straight Talk uses Verizon's network. We were paying almost $40 a month in taxes alone through Verizon with basic phone plans-no data, internet. Now we have everything included for the price of what we were paying in just the taxes. And I love the Galaxy Proclaim. Very user friendly.
