A thought. A gun is a tool. It requires the action of an individual to become deadly. When that individual sparks thoughts, they may use that tool.

Of thought is a lot more dangerous than a gun. People can control what somebody is thinking. But they can control guns to some extent. So I was saying thought is more dangerous than gun because wasn't bought is gone no stopping it.

A thought by far! A person crazy enough to hurt someone else would use whatever they could find to do so. A gun is just an option of many. I personally hate guns however I don't agree with banning them. Someone that wants to kill will find a way!

I agree with all the responses who said a thought is more deadly.  A gun is just an object.  It is the thought of murder which leads to putting in bullets and pulling the trigger.  A thought has even built nuclear weapons. But without thought, all of the products used in making nuclear weapons are just passive chemicals that really do nothing.

A thought because it can turn into an action that results in both beauty and pain. A little thought can grow in magnitude into a plan and that plan can effect multitudes.  Take, for instance, the Boston marathon bombing.  This occured because of a series of planned thoughts came into play.  Guns were present and may have broadened the destructive plan (given it more energy) but the original plan came from thought.  A gun, in and of itself, can do absolutely nothing without assistance. In the Boston example most of the destruction came from pressure cooker bombs.  In light of this we will probably see a ban on pressure cookers? Is a pressure cooker deadly?

They are equally deadly.  A gun is a deadly instrument that is used to carry out a deadly thought.  We cannot do anything about thoughts.  They are personal and everyone is entitled to their individual thoughts but we can do things to control the availability and ease of access to deadly instruments used to carry out those thoughts.

Whats more deadly a gun or a thought? :BangHead:

The THOUGHT, by far, is the deadliest.  A gun is an inanimate object that can cause no harm to anyone or thing UNTIL a human being puts a THOUGHT behind a weapon's USE.  When a human being uses a weapon to harm a person/thing, that THOUGHT has turned in to INTENT.

A gun is deadlier, simply because it can kill.

Granted, it can do no harm without someone pulling the trigger.

But a thought is in my head, and does no harm to anyone unless I choose to turn that thought into action.

Do we really want to go down the road where we try to control other peoples thoughts?

A thought is okay as long as you don't act on it.  At that point, it becomes deadly and a gun is required.  I don't plan to have that thought come out of my head.  The idea that a person is thinking about such a thing is premeditated.  In other words, you thought about it, planned it, and acted on it. :o ??? :o

thought, of course.
it takes some thought to use a gun, no?

it takes a whole lot more thought to create violence.
and some very disturbed thought, at that.
