Finger polish
« on: June 19, 2013, 05:52:22 pm »
I'm trying different polishes to find something easy so that I can design them myself. I'm not at all a good painter much less a designer. So I've seen these stick polish from Avon. Wondering if anybody has every tried them?

There is this one YT-er that makes tutorials on how to have crazy designs.
It's fairly easy.
Just uses water, tape, bowl/cup, and of course, nail polish.

I forgot the name of the person, but try looking up flower nail polish? or Christmas nail polish. Tutorials are good too.

Gotta love youtube for tutorials!

I have not tried those. I got some manicure ideas off pinterest. I find a lot of cool ideas there and they usually include the links to youtube instructional videos or step by step blogs

I only use fingernail polish and I hear Avon is very good.  I used to order them back in the day when I had a job.  Good luck with that one.

No but have you heard the latest?  CVS was planning to ID ALL people who purchased fingernail polish remover (they have to in Hawaii, I think it was) but after an outcry from the people decided not to.  I figure before it is over with they will end up doing it.  You would have to show your DL and have it entered into a system and be tracked as to how much of it you were buying.

Why?  It is an ingredient used in making meth.  Well gee whiz.  So is everything else.  That's what meth is.  A mixture of a bunch of chemicals.  My house is going to get pretty dirty when I have to show ID and have my DL # entered in to purchase basic house cleaners. lol

I'm not good at nail art either, so I don't even attempt it. Heck, I can hardly paint my nails without making a mess and that's with one color...and no I never tried Avon stick nail polish thingies. But in the future I may try nail foil (amazon and other places sell them). Maybe you should look into those. It will give you all kinds of cool designs without actually painting them on yourself. I think all you have to do is just brush on an adhesive and rub on the foil.

I've never tried them, but they might be good for me!  I'm terrible at painting my nails.

I've never tried the Avon ones, but i have tried the stick on nail polish before. I really liked them. Even when I washed my hands they surprisingly stayed on and didn't fade. They only thing with that is that you have to cut the sticker so that it fits your nail. I bought a few nail polishes from 5 below that have the thin brushes and those worked really well. They also sell thin tape to use as a design on your nails and they come in different colors, or you can use tape yourself and use that as a guide line to make your own designs. There are also nail stamping kits, they work alright. And I could keep going and going... Lol If you actually read this message I'll let you know more.

I have not painted my nails in a very long time.  I bet they would not chip so bad if I did.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.
