How do you take care of a newborn with a cold?
« on: July 06, 2013, 01:55:15 pm »
Hello Guys,

I goofed up with my grandchild by taking her to the park's playground so that the older grandchildr
could play.  The day started out hot but turned chilly.  Now my grandchild coughs and sneezes periodically. She's
about 6 weeks old.

She doesn't have a fever and there's nothing wrong with her appetite.

I just feel horrible because I feel both patents are upset with me.  I haven't took care of a newborn in 30 years.

I accept full responsibility for my actions and I pray and hope my grandchild's body fight it off.

Signed:  Stick It To Me Now.

I always use a warm or cold humidifier.

Just keep her confortable, lots of fluids. All children get the sniffles. Who knows it might even be an allergy. I wouldn't let it upset you. You were doing the best you could. the parents shold have taken the baby out , or it could have already been exposed to a cold.

It happens and dont blame yourself. The babys immune system is I guess you would put it as growing or something like that. Just because you took her out may have nothing to do with her getting sick. Everyone tends to get a cold. I am a grandma to so dont feel bad.
