I have about 100, but I only interact with about a quarter of them.  I think a lot of people look for anybody they can find on FB to friend just for the count.

Soo true. I know everyone on my facebook. Most are Friends and family I know personally and some are people I have met online. I would Like for my count to be higher but want a quality count :)

I don't ave anywhere close to 100, but my friends on Facebook are really either my friends or family.  There are no acquaintances or people I hardly know.

Between 100 and 200. I have found many distant relatives and friends from years past. There are only a handful of other people I have met with similar interests.

I really don't focus on how many friends I have on facebook. I think I have over 200+. Most of them are all people I know but I only interact with a handful of them. Some try to friend as many as they can to see how many they get. In my opinion this is not always safe.

That is a great point. I do love the fact that facebook has allowed me to find childhood friends and family. Great posts all!!

I couldn't tell you, but most of my cousins are on there.  It's a great way to stay in touch with family and friends from the "big city". ;)

I don't see why people brag about this sort of thing.  If anyone wants to they can easily get to the maximum number of friends which I think it 5,000.  They are easy to get and you can get as many as you want...so why brag?

I agree bigfoot. But I think people feel the more facebook friends they have the more important they are. They consider facebook to be a social status. Couldn't be farther from the truth but it is what it is.
