has anyone been in my position before????
« on: July 28, 2013, 11:22:03 pm »
what would you do ? Our freind had a 3 month old billy goat and had to get rid of him. he said if we could not take him He would have to kill him because he couldnt get rid of him right away. We took him and now have found the best home for him and close by us and we can see him whenever we would like. I could NOT see killing ANY animal for that reason or any other reason. he wasnt going to put him down.... he was actually going to KILL him and dispose of him. :sad1: :angry7:    :BangHead:

You did the right thing. There should be an animal shelter or humane society that can take the goat if he's really out of options. But I can also understand his idea of putting him down rather than starving the animal to death if he/she can't take care of it. But your deserve a pat on your back for doing what a normal and loving American would do.  Kudos for you!!!

I would have done the same thing. Don't feel bad cause I'm   sure there are plenty of other people that would have done the same thing

You did the right thing, and I commend you for it.  He could not afford to take care of the goat, and had ideas of disposing of it after he killed it.  You taking him in saved the goat from a horrible demise.  I can't see killing an animal when someone else can give that animal the love it deserves.

Some friend he is!  People like him should NEVER own an animal - ANY kind of animal.  He's a barbarian.

we had a goat at one time and got told to get rid of it cause we did not live on farmland, so we asked around and found someone with a goat farm and they took it and said we can come and see him when ever we wanted to. i believe in giving an animal a chance to live rather then see it get killed ( i love animals)i agree you did the right thing.

As long as he goes to people who want him and who will take care of him, why would your friend care?...it sounds like you find a nice home for him.

Finding a home for him is a better option.

I mean you're not the only one that he could have asked to take the goat. He had other options of finding another home for the goat (which you did) and you can see the goat whenever you can. So kudos to you!

You did the right thing. He should not have killed him. Why did he have the goat if he didn't want it.Too many people take animals without thinking ahead!

I'm so glad the goat is doing well.  I am an animal lover, also, and can't imagine not trying to find a place for it if you have to get rid of it.
