In Kindergarten I can remember some good picture books like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Where the Wild Things Are, the Little Golden Books, Dr Seuss, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs.. :binkybaby: In grade school I like reading Amelia Bedelia, The Berenstain Bears, Madeline, Wacky Wednesday...  in my teens I read some Sweet Dreams series / Sweet Valley High before upgrading to something more sophisticated like the Harlequin novels until I eventually got bored with them. Now I only prefer to read nonfiction books.  ;D

I'm sorry...was the question "when did I find my first love?" lol I really can't remember what kicked it all off...I remember my mom always had her nose in a book, usually romance novels by Bertrice Small or Johanna Lindsey and I read them even now for a "guilty pleasure" read. I remeber reading The Babysitters Club books, and There's a Boy in the Girls Bathroom! As much as I love reading, I had such a hard time getting into the books on the school summer reading list. But today I can't get enough of the classics like Jane Austen and Louisa May Alcott. I read Diana Gabaldon, Terry Goodkind, Dean Koontz, Dan Brown.....so many books! I'd rather go to the book store than the mall! Now I read to my daughter everyday, I hope she gets the same love I do for reading!

When I was younger I read Pet Semetary, and then started reading all the Dean Koonz books.

I honestly can't remember what book made me love how to read....but my 17 yr. old son had NEVER read a book that wasn't needed for school or a report until I bought him the book, The Hunger Game.  That was right before Christmas and he is now on the third book in the series Mockingjay. So if you have a non reader I think its just about finding a book that they can enjoy and get into.  I am glad I finally found one and hope he continues to search out books to read!

I read a lot of RL Stine as a kid.  I couldn't say exactly which book was the one that started it all, but it was probably in the Goosebumps series, or maybe a Fear Street.

The first book that I read that made me want to read more books is "A Little Princess". I use to act out the book and even play it out in my room. Now, that I think back on it, I laugh, but childhood is so magical and when you grow up, how you wish you could be a child again and go back to those days of "acting" in your room!  ;D

I really dont know what the first book that i read that i loved. I remember always loving to read. It took me away to a better place growing up in an unstable home. reading about people who were falling in love and so on was always a great escape.

I think I was born loving to read. I know that my early on I loved to read Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy Mysteries. To this day my favorite books to read are mysteries. I also love Karen Kingsbury books.
