Just found out
« on: December 06, 2013, 06:15:46 am »
I was hired on my current job with a temporary status.  Was suppose to get to work at least 6 months with the hopes of being hired to part time.  I found out last night my job will likely end very soon.  He said he will try to keep me til after Christmas.  I am so sick of not being able to find anything other than temporary work.
And Fusion Cash doesn't pay enough to make my house payment :(

Well when times are hard and you don't know what to do.. Just look around and you'll find the right job for you. Some of the information here May or May not appeal to you.. But It may help you on your journey to a steady job. Classifieds is a good place to start sometimes there will be small jobs in there and sometimes bigger jobs that can help with the income alot more. You can Try Craigslist ( I know not the first place i'd look either) but if you look into it there are a few jobs here and there that are worth the time. Just be careful going that route if you do! Also take a look at some babysitting jobs. They do go over well this time of year because sometimes kids are on holiday and the parents don't belive in daycare, Or the parents just need a night out or even the case of the workaholics they just don't have the time and need a sitter. Also look at some Dogsitting jobs people pay well on those because the kennels can get a bit pricey and leave a big hole in the wallet. Dogsitting is one of the easiest if you are good with animals or are a animal person. You can also look for a nanny job or a house cleaning job. Those tend to pay well sometimes depending on the person's income. Sometimes you will find people around the neighborhood that just needs help or an extra hand willing to pay for a little labor. That is a good job most of the time because it don't really have to be a big job it can just be helping out making shopping trips and so on. You can also check for a bagger job. Now a bagger doesn't really make much but every little bit helps. You can always start in a store as a bagger and can end up doing alot more and making more if you do well. Those are just a few idea's to think about toss in your mind. You will find a job soon i'm sure you will be in my thoughts and prayers to help you find a steady job.

I talked to my manager today.  He said I am eligible for rehire and to keep an application in and if there is an opening they will hire me back.  That's a good thing I guess.  There are no jobs where I live.  I live in a small depressed area and there is nothing.  I don't have neighbors that will pay for yard work and stuff like that.  Besides that I am not able to do that.  :( I keep telling myself it will be okay.  I have been thru hard times before and I made it thru.  I also am trying to have a new outlook.  Much like the one my dog has.  If I can't eat it, play with it, or change it...pee on it and walk away! lol

I'm sorry to hear about this.  I've been trying to get a job and haven't heard much from the places I've applied and the one place that called me back didn't do anything after that.  It's hard to stay positive with all these no's being thrown at you, believe me.

One thing, if you could do anything in the world for your job, what would that be?  Maybe try working towards that if you aren't already.  That way, your temporary job will help pay your bills while you improve your chances to get your dream job.

Also, obviously time are hard, but are you able to move if you were offered a better job in a different areas?  If there aren't many places to work where you live, it might be time to consider moving if you can afford it.  I would like to make video games and I'm in pretty much the worst possible location to do that.  Most of the companies are out west and unless I'm willing to relocate, I will probably never be able to do that.  So, while I continue to try and find a place around me where I can get my feet wet, I will probably end up moving somewhere else at some point in my life.

Could you work from home?  I've heard there are some companies that have you type up documents or do telemarketing from your house.  No clue where to access them, but it is something to consider.

I certainly hope things take a turn for the better for you. I can see how you would be so discouraged. Hang in there. The right thing will come along eventually. This economy is so depressing!! We never seem to get ahead no matter how hard we try but we have to keep hoping. At least you had the temporary position. Some people don't even have that. I hope things are better soon. Good luck!!
