That Awkward Moment
« on: December 23, 2013, 01:38:07 pm »
Most of the videos are clear cut and they credit immediately.  However, That Awkward Moment does not credit for me.  The instruction says to view the entire video to be credited.  Apparently the viewer is also required to like the video on a social site.  I'm not a member of the social site so I don't get credit.  I could have saved those two and a half minutes or so and go to another video instead of trying one that I will not be able to complete.  Has anyone else run into this kind of misunderstanding?   :confused1:

I can see where this might be frustrating.  Usually if these ads are going to require multiple steps that include liking or sharing on a social network, the steps are shown at the top of the page.  Although, if I remember correctly, I believe this one actually showed the steps at the bottom but I don't think it specified what the steps actually were.  I'm surprised that you had to watch the entire video because when I watched it the "Continue" button came up after about 30 seconds.  I guess in the future, it might be wise for you to skip any videos that show that it has multiple steps (other than the HyprMx videos) because it's probably going to include social media in some way.  Or you might consider opening a Facebook account specifically for this purpose.  I opened a Twitter account simply because there were some earning opportunities that involved following a brand on Twitter and I've never regretted it.  It took me less than 5 minutes to sign up and I've made several dollars over the last few months using it.

That's all great advice Krissi.  Thank you for that.  I may consider opening up a Twitter account.  Again, I appreciate your input.

Some of the video that "require" a "like" actually have a "skip this step", usually I have found it in tiny print down in the left hand corner.  This has been essential on the ones that you can do multiple times.  Plus I would rather not fill up my Facebook account with stuff I dont have to.

If I remember correctly I had trouble with That Awkward Moment in FireFox it wouldn't credit even with a like but then went to Internet Explorer and it worked fine and there was a skip this step there.

My suggestions so you dont feel like you are wasting time with videos if things dont credit, multi-task, I will do videos will eating, reading the mail/newspaper, paying bills, sewing up things or whatever little things I can do while "watching" the videos (like I would watch tv).

Yeah, I don't like when that happens. I think it should tell you everything that's required right beside the video. It would take nothing to put Watch & Like on Facebook.  :-\

It worked for me. It sometimes takes a few minutes when you see the offer completed heading after watching the whole video. Trying clearing your cookies, cache, and the browsing history first. Then try watching the video again and see if that works.

I've come across this particular video on several sites and the weird thing is that sometimes it gives you the option to skip and sometimes it doesn't.  That's excellent advice about multi-tasking!  I like to set my laptop on my kitchen counter and I watch videos while I'm doing dishes, making dinner, etc.  It's like you said, it's just like watching tv while you do your chores.  I rarely sit down and watch tv without doing some other task at the same time, so I treat the videos the same way.

Thank you for your input.  I have seen a skip this step tab before.  Usually it is a big tab but I will look for smaller tabs on the page in case I run into this kind of thing again.  I appreciate your suggestion.  And by the way, I have been working FC exclusively on Firefox.  I don't seem to have many problems at all though.

The sponsor of the video should inform everyone that they must like the video on a social network to be paid or receive credit.

I've never had to like this video to get credited and usually never have to fully watch it before the continue button becomes clickable

I have a hit and miss with this video.  It has credited to me a few times but there have been more times where it has not.

I know right!  It took me forever to get that video to credit.  I probably watched it 100 times before it credited. I switched to IE and it credited for me... once.

Don't think its ever credited for me so I quit watching it; never liked the video anyway so no big deal to just ignore it.

I thought you had to do that too (liking on a social media) but today when I did the awkward moment, I saw an that the liking was optional. So, maybe you can still get credit for it.  I think all teh ones that have a 5 cent credit involve social media promotion.

Actually, I didn't care for it myself.  I should have known by the title that it may have been something better left alone.  Most of the videos here are fun and clean.  This one was a bit suggestive for me.  So I will be sure to skip this one if it becomes available again in the future.
