Started a new savings plan!
« on: January 05, 2014, 03:52:39 pm »
I just started a new 52 weekly savings plan. I have to stick to this and save something this year. It's not a whole lot but it will be more money than I ever saved in the last 5 yrs...lol.

(Week 1) January 01 - $1.00 (saved $1.00)
(Week 2) January 08 - $2.00 (saved $3.00)
(Week 3) January 15 - $3.00 (saved $6.00)
(Week 4) January 22 - $4.00 (saved $10.00) and so on and so forth...Get the idea?

By next January I will have saved $1378, hey it's not that much but it's something. It will get harder towards the end of course or you can do it in reverse. Start off with $52 week one, $51 week two and go backwards. Getting my husband to match me and save double this amount, this should be fun & interesting...lol

So who's with me??   ;)

My daughter said she saw this on facebook and was going to start doing it.  I would do it, but I'm retired and only get paid once a month.

The initial savings period seems doable but December looks tough.  I have committed to doing it out of passive income made above and beyond what I am doing now but I am not sure how I am going to handle November and December.  Guess I'll have to do more surveys, save more in the easier/earlier months and push hard on alternative means of accessing cash. There was a checklist floating around on one of the previous Fusion Cash posts that made this look a lot easier and attractive to do.  I save every penny that I make online right now but I could bolster my daughter's college spending account with a little extra effort. Thanks for the post...I need the encouragement! Good luck to you with your goal!

I started the same savings plan! You have over $1300 by December, I think it's a great plan. Even if come the 25th week you find it hard to keep adding money, stay at the amount you are comfortable at like $25 a week. You still end up with a great chunk of money!
