:-\I think I would rather have the gray instead of the thinning.  I think long gray hair on women is sexy.

I used to do that and then after a while it got to be too much. I decided about a year ago to heck with it. I might as well just appreciate the fact that I'm getting old and just deal with it. My grandmother would tell me to be proud of my crown of glory. I would dye it , bleach it and anything else that I thought would help but it got to the point where I couldn't stay on top of it so I gave up. I wear it with pride now. :peace:

I'm in my early 40's and have grey showing in the underlayers.  I actually like mine.  Mixed in with my natural brown, the grey often gives me a nice, shimmery look - almost like highlights.  Plus my brown hair is painfully thing and straight.  The grey is a little thicker and a little wavy, so it's finally giving my hair some volume which is a plus.

I've thought about dying, but to be honest, I haven't found any colors out there that I like nearly as much as my natural color, so I have no plans to spend any money covering it up.

I don't like the gray, and feel it makes people look older.  Yes, some people look distinquished, but I would just look old.  I get it colored every so often and feel much better about myself. 8)

I'm 75 and have plenty of gray hair, but I think it's a status symbol.

I started getting silver in my hair when i was 32, had dark brown hair. It would shimmer in the unlight.  I never covered it up. Everyone liked it. Now i am 70 and still have silver hair. I just never cared what anyone thought about it.  Like me for myself.

I think it is worse for women than men. Men can still look young and handsome with grey hair, whereas women are viewed as old. I have loads of grey in my hair and have since I was in my 20s, but refuse to spend the money to color it.  :-\

I'm in my mid forties and to be honest, I do try to cover up my grey hair. However, grey hair on a man is attractive and distinguished. If I were a man I wouldn't cover grey hair. Partly because I'd rather see grey than an undoable color which doesn't match the eyebrows!

I didn't start turning gray until I was 62 and even now it is part gray and part brunette. I can't wait for it to be all one color but I guess I will have to wait.

I'm only 38 and i have gray.... I hid it the best i can - every 5-6 weeks get color... I don't care what other people think- if i were COMPLETELY gray it would be one thing, but those little ones that pop out everywhere suck! lol

with men it's different.men look good with gray hair..women on the other hand, usually look older..i am 52 and started coloring mine about 10 yrs ago when i first started seeing gray..you have to keep it up and that gets old..well the last few months i haven't felt like coloring mine..mine is dark brown and i have some some gray showing..but now i think it looks worse because of the color growing out.since my hair is past my shoulders i will just have to keep cutting a little at a time and hope that its not completely gray when it all grows out..so far it doesnt look as bad as i thought..

I used to color my hair to hide the wisps of gray I have. I got tired of the mess of coloring so I stopped. My hair is dark brown and the gray is in the front. I don't mind it so much. My husband says it reminds him of the bride of Frankenstein.  ;)
