Not exactly just out-and-out "lie," but rather 'give the answer you would give if your situation were the optimal standard.'

IRL*, that's a bad move; but in surveys ... I don't know, but it seems like the thing to do in order not to be disqualified ... is it the thing to do, or a bad idea?

I'm betting it's good for quicker money, but bad in the long-run---companies offering more products-&-services to your 'optimal self' rather than the real YOU, etc.

*In Real Life, I know it's a bad move because that's what I did on a 'survey' given by Oklahoma City's DHS in order to find me some employment. All the questions they asked, I answered with 'what a good employee would do' & not necessarily with 'what I would do'  :angel12: And that DID get me the job; but when I was 'on the job,' I ... started to do less of what 'the good employee' would do & more of what 'lusty snuggle-bunny ME' would do  :confused1: ... which got me fired/motivated-to-quit

------------------------------------------------------------------------------That's what a Pharisee might say today. You now have the chance to respond as my mentor Jesus-of-Joseph would, and I pray that you will!

Wow! What a question.  :confused1: The whole idea of the surveys is that the companies put them out there to get honest opinions. It's not really for your benefit.

They pay as an incentive. Put yourself in their place, and see if you think you would like it if everyone started putting bogus answers just to get the money.  :o

And BTW, it is a lie. Not truth = Lie.  ::)

I don't think it's a good idea ... it invalidates the purpose of survey's ...  :)

I don't think it'll make or break a survey but I try to always just be honest. If they don't want me, oh well!

Oh, really? What about this. I'm not employed, because I'm on disability (kinda ... I plan to start a topic about this). Sometimes when surveys ask about employment, one of the choices they offer is "disabled." But sometimes it might be better to select "Self-Employed" (as I am) or "Home-maker" (as I am). Neither one might be the 'most-true' answer available, but the full truth might disqualify me :ninja:

A lie is a lie
half truth is also considered a lie!
Full Truth is Truth
