« on: January 27, 2014, 12:29:45 pm »
i had an appointment at social security at 10am and they made me sit there till 245 before calling me i think if you have an appointment you should be seen as soon as possible to that time there were people who were just walk ins that came in after me and left way before i was even seen and the thing that got me is all i was doing was changing my name on my ss card to my married name

This is just another form of bad service. You should have spoke up and i got to give you the credit because I would have said what the bleep and bleep you I made an appt for a reason so you weren't their all day.  I hope you told them something so this does not happen to anyone else.

Been there and done that. I had to drive 140 miles 1 way.  to get my name changed on my ss card, also sit there for about 4 hours waiting. Needless to say i finaly had had it i ask for the manager, boy did i cut lose on her. Got my name changed and left. Never went back again. But the worst one was when i went to apply for my ss. Granted only had to drive 50 miles 1 way but still had to wait almost 3 hours and i kept watching thse young people beboppin up there to get their ssi. There was not a dang thing wrong with them but being lazy and moochers.

Bless your heart! I don't blame you for getting mad! I hate having to do anything that deals with the government. It seems as though when you go there they act like they are doing you a favor for just doing what they are hired to do. That shows another way our hard earned tax money is wasted. The way I look at it if you don't want to work then step aside and let someone else work.

Government has always been inefficient. Sometimes its best to look at it from that standpoint so that you'll never be disappointed when they don't deliver. :-\

Well that's how it is these days. Hopefully the community would care a little more and when the community goes down, than it would be too late.

I am sorry, that happened.  I probably would have just walked out.  Not doing any good for me in doing so.  I hope you did say something about it to some one there.

I would get mad too. That's a ridiculous amount of waiting time. Kudos on having such patience though.

I would definitely give them a piece of my mind. It is like your time isn't important. BS!!!! If you have an appointment and they take 1 walk in ahead of you, I would give them all hell.

Wow that is a long wait.  You should have said something in the first place.  If I were you, after waiting 30 min I said something already.  Hope you will be treated nicely next time and have a nice day.

That is what you consider bad service.  I have never heard of someone staying at the SS office for a long time.  I don't blame you for being upset.

You had to talk to a specialist to change your name in your social security. It is the reason for which it took so long!
