For me, the switch from credit cards to cash was TOUGH. For that first month, I had to pay the credit cards AND still have the cash to pay for day to day stuff. Luckily, my tax return helped to pay that off. I have lived most of my life a slave to debt and I'm working really hard to pay off my car this year, the last remaining debt I have other than my house.

My firm has been laying people off, and no way could I afford to be unemployed :(

Good Luck...same boat. Just try not to panic and take it one day at a time.  I take 3 steps forward and 2 steps back but I'm proud when I take that one step forward.  Take care.

I am sorry to hear that I am glad to say I am not in that position! But I know its hard to ever get out of it just try to be very responsible with your money and slowly pay it down I guess. I dont own a credit card also cant spend money I dont have

If you really are still playing the lottery, you could stop wasting your money on that and use it to pay off debt.

Sometimes.  My debt is manageable for me now but I still want it gone.  I'm just trying not to add a lot to it.

I am always drowning in bills deciding which ones to pay or not to pay.  I so behind on four of them that I don't know if I am going to be able to catchup. We are trying to make the inside and outside of our home is worth more than the loan my sister is going to try and buy our home so that there is more assets rather it being docked and the value of the home goes down.   The lady who owns it wants to get out from under the loan which she only did for me so I wouldn't lose my home Because my parents got a loan on the property though here (my aunt) and my parents have not been giving her a enough money to pay the loan so it comes out of her income and she lives in California and she has a lot of her own bills.
My parents were not suppose to get a loan on my house for any reason they promised and broke the promise now I have to do quit a bit of repairs for the loan to go through.  Which is difficult because I am disabled and have no income, My husband gets SSI but that is only $721.00 a month and when electric bill is $276 so it doesn't leave us with much of a budget to work with.

I feel like I'm drowning in debt when I have an unexpected expense, like a car repair or our son needing money for something unexpected. When the unexpected happens, it sets me back.

Yes. Constantly. Mostly because I am. Things are really, really tough for us and they're only getting tougher. We just can't get ahead or catch a break. No matter how hard we try, we just keep slipping further and further.  :(

Sometimes I wonder how I get by half the time! It's struggle after struggle each day of the year.
Wish I knew what it was like not to worry about debt or money. Guess I play the lottery once in a while
and keep my fingers crossed. MMMmmmm.

Debt- the American Way.  Live above your means and pay later.
I am definitely too far in debt.  I make enough to pay bills with
little left over for leisure.   I am trying my best to remedy the
situation.

All the time.  It seems like i will just get one thing paid off and then here comes the next issue, or surprise you need a new refrigerator or the car broke down.  Constantly feel like im just treading water and barely keeping my head above the waves.
