Earthquake
« on: February 15, 2014, 04:43:44 am »
I live in Anderson SC.We had just got home and sat down. And all of a sudden my house was shaking and you could feel this rumbling noise below you.My recliner felt like it was vibrating. My husband thought someone had ran into the home.I said no I bet it was an earthquake, just joking..Neighbor called,it wasn't a joke.she didn't know what was going on.we found out there was a 4.1 in Edgefield SC.I swear I never want to feel anything like that again. That was a very weird feeling and I am so glad it wasn't worse.Did anyone else feel it?

Last summer I was talking to my cousin (I was at home she was at Walmart) and the house started shaking.  I was like "what is that"  I told her the whole house was shaking.  She called me back later and said there was a confirmed earth quake.

We live near where the epicenter of the earthquake was in Virginia two or three years ago.  We still have aftershocks.  I don't want to go through another one, either.

I live in central Calif.  We have earthquakes all the time.  I'd much rather live through an earthquake than a tornado.

We have had one here in Indiana several years ago. It was very strange as the house shook, pictures fell. It was the second one that I have experienced in Indiana. I hope to never have to feel a stronger one ever!

my niece lives in SC at an army base. She has 3 small kids and she said it scared her to death, the kids were all torn up about it. They are ok.

That's strange, I usually hear about earthquakes in the west coast, not in SC.

I just heard about this on the news yesterday. I live near Kingstree, SC in Williamsburg County. I didn't feel anything, but  folks down this way are still getting over the terrible storm. I think this is the second storm we've had so far this winter. There was a lot of damage. The power was out for a few days, trees were down, and the roads were a mess.  This weather has been doing some strange things lately. Hopefully this was the last of it.

Earthquakes can happen any place... you just have to be prepared.

I really don't like earthquakes. I know the ground is actually moving at an insanely fast speed all the time, but I can't feel that and it doesn't disturb anything so I'm okay with it other than that I do NOT like it when the ground moves! lol
