do you think facebook is on the rise or is it losing its ground? I dont get on it anymore. but there are alot of people that still do. I personally dont have any interest for it. I just made one to keep up with family in different states. What are your views?

Losing ground definitely.  I don't know any youth that still thinks it's "cool"

One reason that Facebook and Facebook like sites will not hold appeal to the current generation of teens is it does not have the novelty it does to us over 25 folks.  When Facebook first got popular it allowed us to find people we'd lost contact with.  The ability to track down that girl you made out with in 1992 and never forgot, or go through your whole high school class and see who's rich, who's dead and who's gay seemed unreal.  But a kid who is 15 now would have no concept of loosing contact because almost everyone can be found.  They'll want the opposite, they'll crave privacy.

facebook used to be fun but all the drama that takes place there makes it lose its ground. from everybodys business being posted on your wall because you are friends with them to half if not completely naked girls on every profile pic its hard to say its really popular.. sorry but im a twitter fan its fun.. I mean notice that even celebrities don't use facebook anymore..

There are more and more people signing up but there are people who no longer log in.  I log in and look at the news feed but I do not post anything hardly ever.

Facebook is more popular today then any other social network on the internet. Facebook will be around forever.

I don't really use it any more.  My friends are still pretty interested in it, but that's about it.  I mostly use it to keep up with them and to post funny pictures I find online so my sister can read them.  It's probably losing ground cause it seems like they are trying to get into everything now to bring people back to them.

I go on Facebook everyday, but usually to keep up with posts from some blogs, and on weekends, I play games on it. I think Facebook is still very popular, except lots of parents don't let their kids have Facebook and Facebook has an age restriction.

I think FaceBook has leveled off. I don't see where FaceBook can go from here. They have to do something totally different to stay in the game. Especially with all those paid to write sites.

Games, that' s it!  If it wasn't for the games, Facebook wouldn't be so popular.  I played a facebook came called Mob Wars years ago, & there were people on there who had over 100 fake facebook accounts so they could be stronger on the game, people were so obsessed with it.  It wasn't uncommon to see players have 10 or more fake facebook accounts so they could send themselves gifts or level themselves up.     Facebook may be gaining numbers as they grow worldwide, but how many of those are fake profiles, they definitely aren't all by unique users.    The numbers are deceiving.

I don't think it will ever completely go away. It is just such a great way to keep up with people that you don't get to see very often.

I think that it is defiantly on the rise. Everybody i know uses it to either keep in touch, play games or to just waste time. It will be a very loooong time before facebook is a thing of the past.  Good topic

I don't think it will be around forever so therefore it is losing its ground...I hardly ever get on Facebook except like once or twice a week or sometimes a few times in a month. I log in to see what friends and family have been up too; I think that Google+ will be the next one to be on the rise
