I've never heard that giving up red meat would lead to weight loss. I know too much of it is bad for your heart and should be limited to lean cuts two or three times a week.

Too many diets pick on red meat. It is not my choice of meat, but I do eat it about 3 times  week. I like`fish and chicken more. Eat veggies! Don't overeat.

Isn't this called the Adkins diet. By cutting carbs and eating meat only? I tried the adkins and lost over 20 pounds in 90 days.

There's always all these diet fads. Just eat healthy and exercise. No mystery to it. You can eat anything in moderation.

when you completely cut out one area of food it is very bad for your body because you need some of the vitamins and etc items in the food speaking from experience when i was a vegetarian for 10 years i had to take supplements that were lost by not eating meat.

I never heard of that. I do know that red meat is bad for you in general. Too much is bad. I also know that if you give up carbs, you will lose weight. I had to do that when I found out I was diabetic. I went from 240 pounds down to 155 inside a few months. But, while not having carbs, you must offset that protein with vegetables. Also excursive is important.

I've never heard that giving up red meat would lead to weight loss.  I suppose if the only red meat your eating is on burgers from fast food restaurants or taco/pizza joints than naturally you'll probably lose some weight.  I'm a firm believer in moderation and so I typically cook using as much variety in protein as possible. Including ground chuck, beef and pork roast, turkey, chicken and fish.

I haven't heard that either.  We don't eat as much red meat as we used to since its susposed to be bad for you with all the stuff cows are fed to make them bigger and fatter.  I lost about 20 lbs on semi-weight watchers (meaning I followed the plan but didn't join)   I did get tired of counting points though and quit;  I 've put 10 lbs back on and hope to loose that with being active.

I heard a lot of red meat isn't good for you but to loose weight you have to keep track of calories, fats, trans fats, starchy foods like pasta, breads, and thing you can make into a cream as well like peas, and corn.

I like my red meat. Give it up never. I just do not eat much of it because it moves slowly through your system and does not digest well.

Eating chicken verses red meat is supposed to be good for your heart.  I don't think it helps much w/ wt.
