At what age did you get your driving license?

I learnt to drive when I was 17 in the UK. The rules for taking the test are different out there. If you take your driving test in an automatic vehicle you can then only drive an automatic however if you take your test in a manual transmission car, you are then licensed to drive both. You are also tested on parallel parking and reversing round a corner (like 12 inches away) and if you touch the corner, you fail. I found it quite intimidating.

I got my permit at 15 and license one month after turning 16.  Good times!

since my older sister was not allowed to get her license until she was 18 the same rules applied to me.

I got my permit at 15 1/2 and I got my drivers license on the day I turned 16.  I still remember I was sweating bullets, but it was in July and about 100 degress out.

I was 19 years old and already married so I thought it was a good idea. It came in handy once I got pregnant so I could visit the doctor without asking anyone for a ride.

Got mine at 17 years old. Passed my driving exam on the first try and everything! And then I had a minor accident a month later.    But hey, you live and learn, right?

The day I turned 16 was the day I got my drivers license,(MO law) I even went 30 mins away from my home town just so I could take it on my birthday. Same with my permit at 15, birthday came along and I went straight to take the test to get my permit. Never understood the people who wanted to wait. To me driving was something new and exciting.

What age did you get your driving license?

I was 16. However,most of the young people are not so anxious to get their license. I wanted the freedom and ability to drive to a job. That was the reason I gave my parents. I got  ajob and needed  myself to and from. It worked. I was so happy to have a car and drive.

I was 16 but I didn't get it right after my birthday, I had to wait for the snow and ice to clear before my Mom would bring me to the driver's license office for my test.

I was sixteen when I got my license and had my first accident 6 months later. But my 19 year old hasn't gotten hers yet. We've told her that until she can pay for her insurance she can't get it. Maybe now that graduation from High school is a week away and doesn't have to worry about grades till the fall and college she go out and get a job!
