I won a trip! Where to go??

I received a phone call yesterday informing me that I have won a trip to anywhere in the U.S. and territories that I want to go!  I entered the Fetzer Vineyard Go For The Green Facebook sweepstakes a couple of weeks ago.  The trip is for two and includes airfare, 5 days/4 nights hotel accommodations and $1,000 spending money.  My husband isn't able to travel so I'm taking my daughter with me.  We've never had a Mother/Daughter vacation.  I have until next Friday when I have to return my paperwork to decide where we are going.  We are leaning towards Hawaii.  I'm so excited!!  Where would you go??

We just went to Maui for the first time and it was wonderful. We spent a week wandering around the island and taking a few of the tourist activities, but it's not as crowded and very little traffic.

We are going to Las Vegas in September.  In Las Vegas, there are new attractions since a decade-time-ago.  I am on a diet and saving my pennies for it.  We are taking the train; hubby never been on a train.

The original poster did mention the trip included free airfare, so her idea to visit Hawaii would take maximum value of this benefit.

Hawaii sounds great. The water always look so good when they show it on tv. But I guess Hawaii or Mexico. Where ever you go, I'm sure that you will love it. You are so luck, I wish I could win a trip like this. And it's the pefect time to go. Congrats!

Congratulations.  I love hearing happy stories about entering sweepstakes and understanding that people really do, win. 

I would take a personal vacation, meaning that, I would go wherever necessary to visit loved ones.  For me, that would be Montana.  I'd make a little family reunion out of it.

I'd probably go to Florida, but most people would probably pick Hawaii.

Definitely take Hawaii, it's the most expensive airfare.  It's so lovely there, water is so warm. 
Also consider Puerto Rico, a Caribbean island that is considered a US Protectorate.

Hawaii is amazing!  The island of Oahu has so much from beautiful beaches to Pearl Harbor. I've also been to the "Big Island" of Hawaii, where one side has volcanoes to explore and the other has lovely beaches. And the airfare is expensive so you would be getting the most out of your free trip. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Very cool.  I'd pick Alaska because I haven't been there yet.

I would go to Alaska to see all the mountains, glaciers and wildlife there. Of particular interest would be Denali National Park in Alaska. I've been there once before but at the end of my trip I felt I hadn't seen every wonderful thing there is to see there. Another great place would be the Grand Canyon.

Many of  friends have been to Maui and they  all agree it is a beautiful place to vist.  Maybe I will be able to go this year work  permitting.
