Has anyone watched Tarzan the Ape Man (1932 classic film)
« on: May 16, 2014, 10:44:05 pm »
Has anyone watched  the original Tarzan the Ape Man from 1932? It is easily along with the original King Kong as the best classic films of all times. My favorite part of Tarzan film is seeing him wrestling with the two African Lions whom looked at him as food. I love seeing him wrestling with the lions and shows he is a strong person. I have watched it recently thru comcast's video on-demand streampix. So if there's nothing else to watch on TV I'll watched this movie.

I've seen it a few times but it's been a while since the last time I watched it. It's a good movie though.

Yes,it's a classic.Nothing beats those original greats.

The sequel Tarzan & his Mate almost single handedly was responsible for the introduction of the "Hayes Code" due to Jane's "scandalous attire!

How times have changed!

I loved that movie as a kid.  I also found it interesting that some of those movies were actually filmed in Ocala Florida which caused a population of monkeys to be in the woods there left behind by the film crew.    :monkey:

Tarzan used to be my favorite movie on the planet!  OMG ... I thought Jonnie Weissmuller was really a great Tarzan.  I can't remember who played Jane, but I did enjoy the movie and then the off spring movies/series.  When my kids were little and I was housewifing I would do my ironing during their nap and watch this old movie channel.  Was probably the nicest part of my day!  Chuckle.

Great Topic!!! Thanks for the memories  ;D

Love the old Tarzan movies! It is hard to see them on TV nowadays. Too politically incorrect. Too many references about the Natives. Aeeaeah. Tarzan yell!

I use to Watch them on late night TV when I couldn't sleep at night. They were very good all of the Tarzan and series I think. I used to like the old Godzilla movies that come on late at night to. Do you like the old Godzilla movies as well as Tarzan?

Yes, I've seen that one. I just love classic films like that. They certainly don't make them like they used to. That's for sure.

I love Tarzan!  He is one of my favorites.  We have just about all of the Tarzan movies on DVD.  I still watch them when they come on TV.  I remember staying all night with my aunt & uncle on the weekends and getting up real early to watch Tarzan.
Have a wonderful day!
