Workout Diet?
« on: May 17, 2014, 10:30:04 am »
I workout daily and am still trying to put the finishing touches on my workout diet..Obviously I'm going for a good amount of carbs and protein but i'd love some suggestions as to what sort stuff to eat and when! I eat a lot of meat now, and I eat 1-2 White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Clif Bars, hoping for some sort of benefits from those.. I eat the Clif Bar Builder's Bars after my workouts, with 1-2 scoops of whey protein mixed with my 11g protein carbmaster milk. 15-20 minutes before every workout I take a caffeine pill. What are some food suggestions that you guys have for me to eat throughout the day, before, and after my workouts? Thanks!

Take a scoop of Casein Protein before you go to bed.  It is slow digesting protein & will help your muscles heal & also burn fat.  Because it absorbs so slow it prevents your body from shutting down it's metabolism while you sleep, so more good stuff.     The more I read about the benefits of taking the protein before bed/sleep the more I am think everyone should be taking it, even boosts the immune system.   It is only 120 calories per scoop, so low calories.    Good stuff!   :monkey:

I had the best body I could build about ten tears ago. I followed the Body for Life plan in the book by the same name written by Bill Phillips.  It only took twelve weeks and really didn't intrude on my life that much.  I work out for an hour with weights on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do thirty two minutes of cardiovascular exercise -generally a stationary bike. You have six meals per day. Each meal is a fist sized portion of protein, another fist sized portion of carbohydrates and some vegetables.  I would switch in two protein shakes per day, in the place of a whole food meal, for convenience.

I used egg whites in powder form and mix it with anything to drink and eat a lot of beans and fish like bake or broil fish, but never fried fish. grease will hurt you big time

The Most success I achieved...best body/greatest health...came when I followed the Bill Phillip's "Body for Life" workout plan/book.  I just picked up a copy in March to get back in shape for the summer. In twelve weeks you are able to transform your body by eating six meals per day, working out on weights three days of the week and doing a cardiovascular activity for thirty minutes/three days a week.  You are allowed the seventh day to cheat...no working out and gorging yourself on junk food! I am on week seven and am digging myself more although I haven't been following the diet as closely as I should.
