I agree.  It is not healthy to lose weight too fast.  Find something you can stick with.  If you lose it too fast, it usually comes right back when you go off your weight program.

If you only have 20 pounds to lose then it's not going to happen in a month. Those that can lose 20-25 pounds in a month tend to be morbidly obese. A better goal would probably be 10 pounds and even that would be harder the closer you are to a healthy weight

The rapidity of weight loss depends on a lot of factors:
* Age comes into play as it becomes harder to lose weight the older you get.
* Genetic disposition
* Personal metabolism rate
* Exercise or energy expended
* Types of food you eat and how often
Just be careful about falling for the claims of diet aid drug vendors.  Even those cleared by the FDA may have negative side effects years later.

Losing weight 20-25 lbs in a month depending on what method you doing. Just make sure it a healthy outcome. As for me I lose 10 lbs in a month after the baby that by 7 days doing cardio exercise, eat  vegetables soup and vegan smoothies.

Starving yourself/not eating to lose weight is not good for you. There have been lots of good suggestions here already, and just as they have said, eating right and exercise are the main keys to losing weight, but losing a lot in a short period of time isn't likely.

 :) Sure, but it will mainly be water loss and will be easily gained back. Dieting is a poor way to go as it involves restricting your diet. Learn to eat "healthy" and the weight, for the most part, won't be a problem.  :)

It becomes unhealthy to lose weight fast because a lot of the time you are losing muscle instead of just fat.

You can do it. Watch what you eat. I cut out most of my bread, pasta and potatoes and I have been losing weight. Another one that I wasn't aware of was rice. All of that will drive your good chlolestrol up  as well as weight gain.

First of all, it's called LOSING Weight.  What you need to do is change your diet to organic fruits and veggies, get plenty of sleep, drink at least 8 glasses of spring water per day, and read my blog to have a healthier lifestyle and to lose weight.   My blog is http://www.healthyintuitions.blogspot.com .   It IS possible to lose weight in just a few months if you follow my lead, because I did it too!
