Like a lot of others on here I don't have a land line either. I don't answer my cell either if it is not in my contact list unless I have just called a new doctor or something like that and don't have the number in my contact list. Now I will answer one of the three area codes used in our area if my daughter is out on a school function or something like that cause it could be one of the teachers or parents calling to tell us they are running late. She doesn't have her own phone yet nor do we plan on getting one for her anytime soon so...

Yes they are annoying but anytime you do surveys or fill out forms for points you should be ready for the phone to start ringing. I have learned how to either not answer or say no thanks and hang up.It is just part of the job.

Yes I get them too, not as much as before.  One tip that you need to know is that even if you registered on the Do No Call List, you have to re-register your number every year, it is not a forever thing.  I get a call from some pharmacy, saying that my prescription is ready, and they do not take NO for an answer.  It is really frustrating

I only answer the phone if I know who is calling. I don't have time or patience for telemarketers.

I get those calls on a daily basis.  I got fed up and bought myself a call blocker.  It works wonderfully.  The call rings one time and cuts them off.  Eventually they get the message and stop calling.

Very annoying!  We used to be on a Do Not Call list but guess we're not anymore cause the calls have started again!  We have caller ID so we mostly just don't answer unless its a number we recognize.  Occassionally I'll answer and tell them to take our number off their call lists.  That works sometimes.

Yes.  I always just hang up on them as soon as I realize it's a telemarketer!  I hate when I answer the phone and it immediately rings, like I was calling them!  I hang up right away.  Can't fool me. Lol

Telemarketers are practically the only ones that call on our house phone, and have even started calling my husband's cell phone, even though all our phones have been put on the "Do Not Call" list!!  So annoying, especially if I do happen to answer, tell them "No" and they call back the very next day!

Yes I hate when they keep calling and I've put my number on the do not call list several times, they just don't take no for a answer!

Mostly, I stopped answering my phone years ago and just it go to voicemail if I don't recognize the number.  If the number is legit, they will leave a message.  If not, I block the number.

One other thing I do is enter the phone number into a search engine to see if the number appears on sites like 800NOTES - those sites have people reporting whether or not number is a scam.  Most of the calls I get are phishing scams.  If you answer, then they know your phone is live and you'll get a flood of more calls.  If it always goes to voicemail, they eventually give up after a couple days.  They may come back a few weeks later under a different number, but I no longer get 8 calls a day for weeks like I used to when I answered the phone.

It's their job - they must make x amount of calls and they must get x amount of people to sign up/join/purchase whatever it is they are selling.  As for the "do not call list" yeah, that's a joke in and of itself.  What I do is just blow a whistle into the phone and the other end thinks they have reached a fax number so they don't call again.  Seems to work better than anything else I've tried.

I've thought about that before, but you have to see things from their point of view. That's their job, so they kind of have to be persistent, but it is annoying. lol
