This is not a practice I am particularly comfortable with--but if I lived in CA where they are having MAJOR water problems right now I could see this being done, and justifiable.

Goodness! I would never expect my guests to leave their pee in the toilet! Don't get me wrong, I do have an appreciation for conserving water. In fact, in the night time, no-one in our house flushes. This is partly to conserve water and partly to keep the house quiet. However, if I was expecting a guest, I would never expect them to follow my lead. I know conservation is the main point here however I once watch a documentary on water consumption. Did you know that it costs one penny in water usage to flush!

Well,  we are in a severe drought, when you use over a certain amount of water the rates  double.  I know a lot of people who are doing this.  They also tells us to put bricks or milk jugs so that when you flush it is less water.

On my own, I do that to save a little on the water bill.  But it's always flushed before guests arrive.  I actually installed a dual flush toilet where it uses way less water.  I just tell guests which button to push.  That's how they can use less water.

It has never dawned on me to do that. My family never did that when I was living at home. It was and still is normal to flush every time I go to the bathroom.

I would never ask my guest to not flush the toilet, this is so wrong and I feel unsanitary.   :o

I never save the flush. Maybe on rare occasions when I am in a rush out the door, but otherwise I never leave the urine in the bowl. I always flush.

I heard of people doing that so they can save on watch pump because the energy saving toilet uses about 5 gallons to flush and fill back up and if you are having to pay for water or an electric bill for water sometimes it helps keep the bill down but I am sure there are other ways that people use to save watch as well.  I don't worry about it because our pump is a shared pump and I use to have it in my name but when the new person moved it ( the pump is on his land) he transferred the electric in his name and before I paid all of that bill so I guess he figures its his turn.
