Calling out sick...
« on: October 15, 2014, 02:14:14 pm »
So I am calling out sick tomorrow and I am going to give my boss one heck of a story to tell all my co-workers since she is so nosy and loves to throw others business' around the office!

Bosses actually TEXT out sick in my office...lol. While subordinates CALL out sick. Not fair but I do not make the rules, since I am a supervisor, I will TEXT out:

[Texting cell phone]....
Al, I had a really bad accident on my way to work. I had a bad case of diarrhea, didn't make it to the toilet so I jumped in the shower with my clothes on, fell and crapped my pants again! :( ... Sorry, not coming in!

LOL!!! Can't wait to hear what my fellow co-workers tell me on Friday! HAHAHAHA!  ;D

So I take it you're not really sick, you just called in sick for other reasons.  You have the right to take a personal day without having to lie about it.  You also have the right to privacy.  You should report your boss to HR.  What he's doing is harrasment.  He's making a hostile work environment and needs to be called out on it.  You do not have to take that.  There should be information posted at your work place with a phone number you can use to report him anonymously.  :o

just be careful that it doesn't come back to you --your boss may get very upset that you made up such a story and it not true --i just wouldnt worry about the nosey busy bodies at work and just stay honest with yourself and your boss

That's funny...lol...but I would be careful...I agree that folks shouldn't be nosy and you have right to privacy/personal days...I just try to gauge the office vibe to do it...if folks are really busy and there's a lot going on I just bite the bullet and go into the office...if things are slow or it's a Friday/day before Holiday, I just subtly find a way to "Stay home" and get work done as necessary, etc., without drawing too much attention to myself or the reasons for my absence

Al (Alice) is one of my female bosses. We have been like friends/family for the last 19 yrs. I tell her all the time when she asks me "Why did he/she call in sick?", I tell her "I didn't ask and we are NOT suppose to ask them"! Who cares why they are taking off, it's none of her or anyone's business. So yeah, it's a prank to see how far my little exaggerated story goes while I'm out! LOL!   :silly:

Where I work it is real easy to call off; but it also counts against you.

Well, I think it back fired on me because both bosses ignored my text and the next day were so cold to me and ignored me like the plague! What immature, childish people I work with! Very disheartening to know that I used to like these people and we acted like family at one point. For now on I will call in sick like a normal employee instead of "hiding" behind my phone like they do all the time! SMH! :-X ::)

Funny! Maybe your boss will learn to keep his mouth shut, or revise the policy. Good luck, enjoy your day off

I hope karma doesn't come back to bite you in the butt!  I don't like using sickness as an excuse to get out of something if I'm not sick.  Seems like I always end up getting sick!
Have a wonderful day!
