I don't. I agree that it is disrespectful.

Absolutely NOT!  I have too much respect for my parents than to call them by their first names.
Have a wonderful day!

My mom was soooooo easy going. Her name was Rose.

We used to call her Rosie Doats!!

She loved it from everyone.

She passed away in 1992.She is missed like most of us would miss our MOMS!!

Absolutely not; that's disrespectful.  I wish any of mine would try it, they will be telling their kids one day bout the whipping I put on them afterwards.

No way.  It would be weird for me.  Always was and always will be Mom and Dad.  I remember a friend calling her parents by there names and both parents asked her not to do it..  I could see the hurt in there eyes.  On the other spectrum I'd been to another friends home and she called her parents sir and ma'am.  Course she was Southern and her parents raised her to respect her elders in that manner.

Not at all. I think you should respect parents by calling them mom or dad.

No, I don't.  Calling my parents by their first names would be disrespectful.  A close friend of mine calls his Mom by her first name.

No way would I have called my parents by their first names. Nor did I ever call my grandparents, aunts or Uncles by their first name. If a person was an adult it was also Mr. or Mrs., miss, Until I was an adult did I. I feel that if the kids now should have to address all adults right. Maybe they would have more respect for the elders.

Most respondents on FC said it was disrespectful. I agree with that point of view.

To me, it's hard to imagine that a mom and dad would not want to be called mom and dad. I love being called mom.

I also love being called grandma. Honestly, I wouldn't have believed that myself until it happened to me. It's just as special as being called mom. I promise.  :notworthy:

Never....I can't imagine anything so rude and unloving....unless the parents wanted them to for some reason.

I always call them mom and dad. I hate when kids call them by their first names. Someone that I know calls their mom by her first name because they don't think of their mom as mom because she wasn't there for him when he was younger.

I always called my parents 'mom and dad.'  Occasionally I'd use their first names if I was discussing something with my brothers.  But rarely.
