I think people balance their checkbook at least once a week.  Depending on how much you use your debit card, then it's daily.

I go online to check my balance almost every day but my bank was bought out by another and this weekend is the changeover so nothing is online until Monday.  I'm very much afraid I won't be happy with a new bank so I'm not very comfortable about the whole thing right now.

Absolutely!!!  It's the only way to make sure nothing "crooked" is going on as well as "balance" your own money.

:) My wife keeps the checkbook. We use a debit card. We don't buy enough to cause overdraft problems. :)

Do you keep your checkbook balanced at least every week to make sure you have not wrote to many checks
or used your debit card to  much?  💳💰
I am glad to say I don't use a  debit card. If I need money, I just make a withdrawal. I do like to keep it up `to date on the check register. I am glad I don't write many checks. It makes it easier to know what you have in the bank because they clear so fast. BMaston12

I am 30, so it might have something to do with my age, but I have never balanced a checkbook.  I have never felt the need to.  You can keep track of it pretty easy on the internet....

Going online won't account for checks that are outstanding. Too many people just believe the balance online is accurate, then a couple checks clear, and here come the overdraft fees.

I can't remember the last time I wrote a check therefore I have never balanced a checkbook either. I keep track of all expenses online, and on a spreadsheet and what not.
