chicken & dumplings in the slow cooker.....I thought it would be good idea for a cloudy rainy day but the way it's been storming hopefully doesn't take the power out before it's done cooking.   :P

Today I am slow cooking a pot roast which I bought at the weekend. I love pot roast but this time, I am using a different sauce. I am using a spiced red wine that I cooked up over Christmas that had star anise, cinnamon sticks, brown sugar, orange rinds and vanilla pods. I frozen it after cooking it as I didn't want any more at the time, but I didn't want to waste it either! I decided I would save it for the next beef chuck roast and, today is the day!

I believe I will have some left over greek pasta we made over the weekend. It has kalamata olives, chicken, artichokes, and sun-dried tomatoes in it....among other things.  Or I might have a giant bowl of popcorn.  The parrot likes popcorn.

grilled pork ribs,  potatoe salad, green salad and aritchokes. Hubby is cooking the meat. It is too hot to cook with the oven. Once in a while he does. I do not let him cook on the stove , his idea of cooking is hot and fast. Needless to say most of it does not get cooked right. So he is only allowed on the grill.

We had baked chicken chimichangas with salsa and sour cream.  Had watermelon and cantalope for dessert.
