I think that would be considered illegal if they did that.  It's not like people are not monitoring the prices.

I live in Ma every Augst we have  a tax free weekend prices are not jacked but you cannot buy a car

Personally, every day of the year should be totally tax free. We pay enough in taxes already.

Yeah, here in Ma we get a tax free weekend in Aug. My brother bought a stove. Pretty lucky the thing gave out a week or so before the tax free holiday. Talk about Divine Intervention!

I have never heard of a tax free week.  There is a tax free WEEKEND which is only 3 days.  Also never seen prices jacked up.  Usually everything is on sale because it is right before school starts.

We don't have tax free days here in California... we're a big welfare state & can't afford to, lol.... seriously though

I think that would be a good idea.  And sometime is not.  There would be a crowded all over the store and people fighting for whatever it cheap.  Not worth it.
