When I clicked on the 2 cent Trivago video today it wanted me to update my viewing software, but it turned out to be malware that pretended to be a malware warning.  It took over my computer, changed my homepage, changed my search engine and is still appearing on Fusion cash even though I restarted my computer.  I have work to do, but I've been chasing this down for the last couple hours.  I've put in a support ticket about it, but felt I should warn the forum community.   >:( :BangHead:

Run your virus software first.  If you don't already have it, go and download "Malwarebytes" at "www.malwarebytes.com."  It's a FREE software program to get rid of malware.  Install it and run it.  Between your virus software and Malwarebytes, you should be good to go.  PS:  NEVER click on anything that just pops up out of nowhere.  If it tells you something is outdated, go to the website for that software yourself and check for yourself - compare the versions on your computer to the version the website for that particular software shows you.  Sorry this happened to you, but this is how a LOT of people get "caught."

Thanks so much for the tip . it's scary clicking on things even the ones that appear to be trustworthy.

I ended up removing it with MalwareBytes.  Funny thing is I just heard about them a couple days ago on a local morning show.  :)

I see the video is gone today.

I do not see that video anywhere now, so I assume it has been taken down. But, thanks for the heads up. Hope your computer is all right now. Just be careful next time and happy earning!
