Your correct Aggie. You should be bullied at all for any difference anyone may have. or just cause you have more of something you shouldnt be bullied or picked on for having less

Bullying in any form is just wrong.  It is a pack activity that traces back to our most primal selves (even stupid chickens do it!) If we could teach our children to be proud of themselves and not be so sensitive to the criticisms of others, the effect of bullying would be neutralized.  Bullies are simply small minded people unable to allow others to be different.  It is our biggest shame as human beings.

Bullying is present in various forms even from elementary school onwards! Parents need to teach their kids to respect each person for what they are.

Good for you, iam  against bullying. I was bullied when I was a little girl, and it hurts. Its a serious matter that needs serious attention. I know my daughter will never be bullied because I'll teach her to stand up for herself and she won't be a bully, everyone deserve to b treated nicely.

I too was bullied as a kid & I took the pain & dealt with it alone & survived it.It's not right but it makes you stronger when you become an adult. What I don't understand is why this great need to broadcast nonstop on bullying now? Are kids today just weaker than kids in our era cuz nobody ever came to my rescue to save me when I was suffering!i just think kids today are just sheltered& pampered to long that when they go into the wild they have no defensive skills to fight back!

Bullying is even in the work place now, if you ask some one to do their job they run to the boss saying your bullying them.

Bullying will never stop. Kids (and adults) will always be assholes. Teach your kids to stand up or themselves and others who are bullied.

Although on face-value I agree with the sentiment on stopping bullying, I am also a realist that knows that bullying is in fact a natural process of inter-species selection (as lbeery noted, even chickens have a "pecking" order), so it is impossible to eliminate it completely. As such, I think it is important to teach children a) to respect others and yet b) to stand up for themselves (or at least shrug it off) if others end up picking on them.

We also need to make the distinction between bullying vs. someone arguing a side that is opposed to you. Our society has become so sensitized to what people say that sometimes a person will be accused of "bullying" because they were hurt by a remark even though it just is a matter of different opinions.

The problem is that labeling someone as a "bully" is becoming a tactic to silence opposition. If "bullying" is defined as saying or doing something that hurts another person, you can start to manipulate the conversation through speech-codes, censorship, etc. For example, if someone argues in favor of displaying a Confederate Flag, they are immediately labeled as racist (ie a bully on a person's race) even if the person is using rational arguments and holds no ill-will towards others not of their race.
