grease stains

What is a good way to get out grease stains. I was frying chicken and spilled a little on my new jeans.

I would recommend soaking in clorox, then wash it in a washer machine.

I'm sorry, but you can't soak jeans in Clorox.  That would bleach them out. You need something that will degrease.

Shampoo would work better if you pretreat the stain and let it work before you wash it. And DO NOT dry it unless the stain is gone. That will SET the stain and it will never come out. Try pretreating and washing again. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid there's little hope to save it.

You can also use a Fels-Naptha bar on the grease. That works the best on grease and oil stains. It's not expensive and it works like a charm. I got tar out of my daughter's prom dress with it. Don't ask.

Try Dawn dishwashing liquid, and a toothbrush to scrub the stain from both sides of the fabric.

Line dry, rather than machine dry, until you get all of it out, otherwise it will just set in.

Clorox would be really bad you may have spotted or faded jeans afterwords but it would work though. You could try baby powder or corn starch . Envoles a lil scrubbing

Dawns Dish washing soap. The blue soap works the best.

I would imagine that Bleach would be a bad idea, because it would bleach the color from your jeans. But I watched a program once where the host (a cleaning specialist) advised that in these circumstances, you should use exactly what they use to get oil out of birds such as when there are oil spills - which is Dawn and warm water.

Yeah I'm thinking unless I want my jeans to be tie dyed that wouldn't be good. I will try the shampoo and the other remedies as well thank you all

Well, you definitely can't put it in bleach unless it's clorox 2 for colors. I would try the degreaser you use for taking grease out of the kitchen from frying etc.

Try using some dish washing liquid or some shampoo to remove the grease.

Try taking a liquid laundry detergent (of your choice, but I know that Wisk works really well), pour some on the oily spot, rub it in really well, then let it sit until the next time you do laundry.  I've done this plenty of times and the stain usually comes out.

I will pour liquid laundry soap right on the spot and scrub it in and let it sit 20 min. Then wash in cold water. Don't heat dry it~make sure the stain came out first!
