Chip Credit Card?
« on: October 07, 2015, 06:36:08 am »
Do any of you have one of those new credit cards with a chip? I thought it was a hassle at first, but now I am getting to like it.

You can't just swipe your card, you need to insert it into a slot and wait for it to process.

I understand it protects you better, so it is probably worth it.

No, I don't have one yet.  One of my credit card companies just sent me a notice they will be issuing all chip cards within the next two months.

Several of my cards have the new chip technology.  Takes a bit to get used to using the new card since I am used to "swiping".

My wife has one.  She has used it a few different times.  I am not yet sure how I feel about it as it seems to take a bit longer to complete the transaction, but if it truly is more secure, I suppose it is a good thing.

I've been waiting for the opportunity to use Apple Pay when I am out and about, but my bank is not geared up for it yet and I have no major credit cards that use it.

Yes...I have it for 3 of my cards. Waiting for my credit union to issue my new card..current one doesn't have it. Takes a little getting used to inserting then swiping.

Yes.  A couple of my cards have the chip in it.  I know my Debit card and my Discover Card have the chips.

Yes.  A couple of my cards have the chip in it.  I know my Debit card and my Discover Card have the chips.

I think Discover was one of the early adopters of the chip.

I have a couple but haven't actually used them any differently. One of them is a Discover card.

I hope that the chip is more secure.  :-\

My debit card has the chip but not my credit card yet. Probably will happen soon. I think it's a good idea but stores need to be equipped for those type of transactions.

it sounds like the chip will protect better but I think it will take retailers a while to catch up with technology
so far I don't have one :pumpkin: :pumpkin: :peace:
