How much does a Christmas tree cost?
« on: November 30, 2015, 04:52:26 pm »
I think it is getting too expensive to buy a real tree, but I love the fresh pine smell.

How much do you usually pay for your tree and how tall is it?

Last year we paid either $30.00 or $35.00 and the tree was probably 6 feet tall or so. It was fun to go pick it out as a family.

I've never had a real Christmas tree, I've always used a fake one. Hopefully, I'll have a new one next year.

I used to buy only real Christmas tree but this year we decided to buy one from QVC so we spent $349 but you have remote control and a lot of lights.

I have a fake one, and I just get some pine air fresher and it's all good.

Haven't had a Xmas tree since I was a kid.  In my area they have several real tree stands set up and I see them starting off at $25 then closet to Xmas they reduce them to $20.  In the stores I see the artificial ones anywhere from $30 all the way to over $100 depending on the size.

Since I live in Oregon, we get Noble Fir trees for $10 to $20, but this year we will cut one in my back yard for free.

How much do you usually pay for your tree and how tall is it?

I can't remember the last time I bought a real tree that actually had a pine tree smell.  :crybaby2: Artificial trees are much less of a fire hazard, much less of a travail since you don't have to water them or cut them to size, and you can buy some pine boughs to get the scent you want.

I have nothing against real trees, but it does require more time, work and money to replace your tree every year. However, if you buy a potted one that you can plant, that might be an option.

P.S. Don't forget to shake your live trees before you bring them into your home. Little creatures can be lurking in there. I've heard some horror stories. . . . just sayin'.  :dontknow:

We don't have many Pine trees in Western Oregon, so no Pine tree smell, but Fir trees smell better anyway. Also when you cut them fresh and stick them in water, they last a long time with no dried needles or shedding.
