yes it is what makes the holidays wonderful just wish they could stay  everyone is fussing over me because they say i am doing to much but it makes me feel better to do things rather then laying on the couch doing nothing and Nnacy i hope you have a wonderful christmas and new years  also how are you doing better i hope

Thanks Aggie.  Feeling better, had bone scan and results were good, cancer did not travel to bones, thank God!  Don't know if I could have taken it, that would have been my 3rd type of cancer.  Rest and let your family do for you, they want to and you deserve the time to just enjoy them.  God bless you and your entire family.

For sure my best memories are the ones made when my family was able to get together for holidays and vacations. I have two sisters who live in the UK, near to my mom, my dad sadly passed away in 2007. I have wonderful memories of my dad cheekily taunting my mom, my sister and I sharing an immature giggle peaking out of the porthole of a barge we had hired for our holiday. That vacation our dear elderly dog accidentally fell into the river, blind and deaf she couldn't see her way to the bank. I jumped in after her to rescue her and she lived another few years until finally passing away at a very, very old age.  You just can't buy wonderful memories can you?

I am having 9 for Christmas brunch which I just found out today. 9 is about all I can fit in my condo

One time while married to the kids father without  asking me invited all of family for thanksgiving. Now this family there are 11 kids in it plus all of their kids. He told me about it later. It was a job as only one of the women helped me when she could. I started cooking 2 weeks before thanks giving . Rented another freezer for this. Cooked 3 turkeys, 2 large hams and 3 beef roasts (large ones) sliced all and froze with the broth in the freezers. I cooked all of them in a big stove at a restaurant. the owners were so great about lending it too me after hours.  I also cooked about 5  sheet cakes 14 pies. this is not counting all of the potatoes and veggies. Not one of them offered to bring anything. They started showing up on Monday except those who lived within a 100 miles. They would not even get off their tails to help with all of the laundry. You know towels and such. I did use extra heavy paper plates. and plastic silverware. Even caught heck because I was not using glass plates. I did not have a dish washer. Oh well that will never happen again as we split up the next year.

I am happy for you aggie to have your family with you.  Go ahead and let them help you out some.  They will feel better too when they feel they are helping you.
