no doesnt gross me out, and if I see someone reaching in with their hands I would say something to them, and then tell the servers so they could switch the pans out

Only time I have ever seen anyone grab at something was a kid, and I said here let me help you before they could touch the food

No it doesn't gross me out.  I like a buffet.  I can choose from several different kinds of foods and have salad and dessert, all for one price.

I love going to buffets. Not only can you choose exactly what you want, you dictate how much of it you get and it doesn't matter if you have things that don't match on your plate! The only problem with buffets is the people who let their young kids loose to help themselves. I've seen kids put their fingers into the serving containers, put things back, drop them and then sneeze! I have kids but I taught them table etiquette before unleashing them on the buffet tables.

That is exactly the grossness i am talking about, lol. I saw a kid sneeze all over the dessert once and it was nasty. I skipped it that day.

Why would it, I look forward to serving myself that's the purpose of going to a buffet isn't it.

Yep, my question was if it grossed people out to eat a place where basically others can touch the food, etc.

No.  I haven't have a chance to go to an buffet for months and we would like to come one day when we have time.  I'm really crave for it.

I do not pay attention to most people when I go to those restaurants, but I really hate to see tables with untouched food since the person fill his/her eyes before their stomach and the food goes to waste

It depends on the buffet. I tend to stay away from Chinese restaurants a lot of the time

I would think it depends on the buffet. You wouldn't catch me dead in a Golden Coral or any buffet similar to that. But we recently had friends in town and took them to a really nice buffet in the casino near by. Everything is fresh and kept clean. It better be at $50/ per person lol.

I used to eat a lot of buffets a long time ago. The only time my stomach churns is when I see kids (usually unattended) putting their hands in/on the food.  :o

I've had to tell kids to not do that on more than several occasions. It's a parenting issue.

No not really but I do know what you mean. I work at a restaurant where we have a lunch buffet and I see people touch food, pick up food and put it back.

I don't eat out much anymore, because my husband and I are trying to eat healthy and lose weight.

Buffets don't usually gross me out, but I have seen a child lick a serving spoon and put it back in the food.
Usually I don't think of things like that, but it can be pretty gross if you stop and think about other people's habits.

the only time something grosses me out is when i see the folks use there hands to grab items off the buffet. or when they throw something back on the buffet when someone has dropped it.l other than that i jus say say a small prayer and hope for the best
