Does eating at a buffet where you serve yourself gross you out?

Sometimes, depending on how crowded it is and the germs of others handling things.

I eat at buffets very rarely now, but I don't like going to the buffet and French dressing spoon is in the ranch dressing or having a gravy spoon in the macaroni.

It depends on which buffet you go to.  Some are good and some aren't.

No not really but it depends on the type of buffet and how clean it is before I eat there.

The only thing that grosses me out about it is when people pile their plates a foot high and then go back for seconds and thirds.   :o

The plus side is that it encourages me to eat less when I see that. :icon_rr:

Why would it gross you out for people to go back for 2nd or 3rd?  What difference does it make?  I don't pay attention to how many times someone else in the restaurant goes back to the buffet bar. lol

It does not gross me out but it is not my preference. I much prefer to have a waiter or waitress take my order.

I don't have a problem serving myself. What bothers me a lot is having some of the employees waiting for you to tip them after cleaning the table.

It really depends on the type of buffet and place it is at.

Not really if you went there to begin with that means you have done your homework and you know the place is clean and hardly anyone gets a food allergy or sickness from it. If the place is so dirty from the outside and has grass and weeds all over it, I won't even bother. For those who love Chinese buffet, stay away from the ones that has the word, "golden" or "pheasant" trust me, Not clean and even bathroom is a mess.

Only when you walk in and you can feel that it's not exactly the cleanest place around.
