Would You Really Rather Have Jesus?
« on: February 23, 2016, 05:57:08 pm »
So many times I have prayed in my life, "Lord, I don't care if someone offered me everything in the world, I would never trade it for my relationship with You."

Well, the other day the hymn 'I'd Rather Have Jesus Than Anything" was stuck in my head and I was convicted of something I never noticed before.

I say I wouldn't trade my relationship with God for anything - yet I have.  And for a small price, too.  When I am so covetous that it drives me to buy things I can't afford, even if it's something for $20 - aren't I choosing things over God.

Ouch.  I never thought of that before.

I have come to many realizations over the last year. One- I need to be more grateful for the things I have in my life and give the glory to God for my accomplishments.  I'm a work in progress. Very happy that God is a patient God.

Though we are all mare humans and according to God's word, we have to be perfect as Jesus Christ was and is perfect. No matter how much we try or tried to be perfect,.....we can't. God understands the weakness of our humanity. He knows we can not be as perfect as Christ Jesus was and is perfect.  Many time's we all make stupid, silly or dumb mistake's in our lives and we all get to realize our mistake's after it is all said and/or done, we are all weak in the flesh. That is why our Lord God send His only Son Christ Jesus for the sin's we've committed or are committing, so to speak.  *For those who trust's and believe in the Lord and call upon the name of His son Christ Jesus and asks of Him to forgive all of our sin's through the name of His only begotten Son Christ Jesus and confess with our mouth's that He is our Lord and Savior in our life shall be saved* He is a patient God, He understands. Hope this helps.  :)

We all fall short and do things without thinking but God forgives us

I am a Christian and I think God every day for his Salvation.  I have what I need and I don't buy stuff just because someone has more than I do.  I have had health issues but thank God I am over come them.  I give God the glory.  I always honor my parents and was there for them till they passed away.  I never turned my back on them or made them fill they were ever not wanted.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

If it is needed; I don't think you chose it over God. God wants us to prosper. as long as you don't kill for it or steal it from someone else; it is ok.

Remember God said he would provide all your needs, not all your wants. Find peace with God and you can have peace on earth, at least in your corner of it. Our perfection will be in heaven not here on earth. Here we strive for perfection in heaven we have perfection from the gift of God.

I'm actually doing the Elijah project now and this reminds me of when he tells Elijah to walk in the desert during a drought...he sets up camp near a brook of fresh water.  Ravens brought him food.  Water, nourishment and safety.  Elijah's needs were met nothing more.  Nothing less.  When we put Jesus first it seems as horrible as situations are our needs are always truly met.  His plans - not ours.

Elijah may have known about the seed that God spoke of then but Jesus had yet to appear as the Messiah.

Also a reply to a few posts up.Go to heaven???So God wanted A&E to die?LOL!!If that was the case why did HE bother to warn them of penalty of disobedience?

The bible says the earths stands forever and righteous will reside in it under Gods kingdom <government>ruling from heaven......NOT Trumps!!

1ST mention of seed in bible with judgement on serpent....

Gen 3:14....the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life; 15And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel

Psalms 37:29....The righteous will possess the earth,+
And they will live forever on it.+

Let the good book back it up RE The Seed and man living on earth forever as was intended!!

Well, what can I say? Some believe in both: GOD and Jesus. Others believe only in one. While some believe in neither.

I agree with you sometimes I take for granted everything God provides for me.  I am thankful that God cares for me even when I sin or don't  show appreciation
