As I was experiencing the outdoors I overheard my neighbors children approach her home to wish her a happy Mother's Day.

The family knocked on her door and the husband said.....

She must not be home.  Let's leave the card in the door and go.

Just then, she opened the door.  Now they HAD to spend time with her.

What percentage of people celebrate Mother's and Father's Day only because they feel obligated?

What are your thoughts about this?
Have a great day!

My thoughts are that I think the husband was terrible to want to leave the card at the door. I don't know what percentage of people celebrate Mother's & Father's day only because they feel obligated. I think it depends on how you were raised as to whether or not you celebrate it.

My girlfriend does. Her daughter came up from Louisianan to visit her. They went out and had a seafood dinner. :)

Id rather receive a gift because someone wanted to give it to me rather then feel they felt obligated to.

I celebrate Mother's Day because I know I gave my mom a really hard time in my early teen years and I appreciate everything she did and does for me still.

I celebrate because I want to and try to make every day Mother's Day.  You only get one MOM, do everything you can for her and there will be no quilt if she passes first, just good memories.

No! Mother's Day and Father's Day come from the heart. Do not forget: "Honor your Mother and Father!"

My mom has passed and I'm not a mom...didn't really even acknowledge the day.
