I'm the same.  I usually wait a little while to buy things to see what kind of reviews they get.  That and things tend to go down in price after a couple of months.

I generally wait to try and make sure they get all the glitches out and they usually cost me less since they have been around for awhile, I do not have to have the latest technology so I guess waiting works for me.

When it comes to electronics I don't tend to buy them right away because of price.  Other than that, I buy what I need, not what I want.

If it is new electronics I am interested in, I usually wait for at least a year not only to see how other people like them but also to see if the price won't come down some.

Yeah, I always read reviews and ask friends and family if they ever used a product before I buy it. I also try to find samples whenever I can.

The only thing I really buy new is video games.  There are always reviews of the games I want to buy before the games are released to the public.  For everything else I wait till the price comes down and to see what the reliability and reviews are of said product.
