Gator grabs child at Disney Park in Orlando

A gator grabbed a 2 year old boy last night.  The boy was at the Floridian Hotel on Disney property.  He was wadding in ankle water with his family nearby.  The gator grabbed him and pulled him into the water.  The father tried to grab his son but couldn't get him free, as the mother and siblings watched.  I can't even imagine what they felt.

That's really tragic. I've heard of horror stories at zoos.

Apparently there were signs stating don't go in the water...
I've been to Florida, there are gators & turtles everywhere it seems, I wouldn't go in the water.

I feel for the parents, it is truly awful.  Go somewhere for vacation, or anywhere for that matter, and witness something like that...  I, too, can't imagine what they felt...  just no words losing your child in the blink of an eye, one second happiness, then the next terror...

ggeeez, I seen that on the news. Can't put it in words, when your stomach falls to your feet than up to slaps you right in the face.

They are still looking for the boy and calling it a search and rescue.  I think it would be a miracle if he was found alive, but I don't think so.

Yeah, I've been reading this story today and almost wanted to cry. To go on vacation as a family, which is supposed to be fun, only to have it turn into tragedy is devastating. This is something the family won't forget. I am praying for them.

I can't imagine the feeling, either.  What I don't understand is why the parents would let him wade in the water at all when there were signs posted.  I also think there could have been much better signs posted warning of alligators.  Poor baby.

this is such a horror. i could imagine of how the boys parents feel one moment having fun and the next moment their boy is grabbed by a gator.

This is the most horrific story!!   I can't even imagine how that father felt when he was trying to grab his child away from that gator!!!  I think I mostly blame DISNEY WORLD for this because although there were signs that said "no swimming", where were the signs that said "CAUTION- GATORS"?

i have been following this story but living in florida it is  part of living here you always have to watch out for gators i feel bad for the parents and pray that this child is found safe but i do not think it is possible because if the gator dragged him off into the water i do not see a good out come
