Have you ever worked with people who get an attitude
when you ask for assistance? We have to work together
for 8 hours together and instead of being helpful some people
Choose to mean.

I work with people who "think" they do not have to work.  And basically they don't and get away with it.  I would rather just do it myself to start with than to go thru the hassle of dealing with asking for help.

yes, I have had  co workers like that many times. I have even run into that as I volunteer and sometimes that even worse.

Too many people have the "that's not my job" attitude.  I don't care if it's "your job".  If it needs doing then DO IT.
If I see someone struggling or needing help I jump in there and help them.  I do not have to be asked.

Many people simply do not want to do any work. There are two choices for these types of people: Refuse them any service or avoid them completely.

Professionally, I'm surprise as to the attitudes and personalities some people exhibit. I think being humble, courteous, and understanding are essential roles in many jobs. I'm personally very laid back, and immediate try to minimize my collaboration for anyone who has the opposite personality type.

It always amazes me when people who choose to be in a customer (or patient) service environment seem to not really like people all that much.  I have been blessed over the years to work with folks who are generally agreeable and leave their attitudes at the door -- but there always seems to be "one bad apple".   My most recent experience was a co-worker  who copped an attitude whenever I asked for her to explain an acronym or other company-specific stuff.  Eyes rolling, sighing, dismissive --  BLAH!

Are you talking about co-workers or patients with a bad attitude?  If I were in a hospital I probably would not have the sunniest of dispositions either.  I don't see being disrespectful though.

I remember working in a position of superiority over someone who had achieved better academic results than me, and she really did not like it. She gave me attitude about the smallest things. She clearly hated taking instructions from someone less qualified than her. One day, I asked her to ensure the printer was stocked up with paper at all times, primarily because everybody in the company printed from that printer but they worked in different rooms, so it wasn't easy to tell if the printer was fully stocked of paper. We were both very busy and at times we would be passing messages to each other via notes, so things didn't have to wait until we were both back in the same room at the same time. So I left her a note asking her to keep the printer restocked and when I returned to the room, she blew her lid. She said "Why do you have to ask me these thins via notes? Can you not tell me to my face?
