Sam's Club is having a one-day only sale today & they are selling stainless steel tumblers (for adults) with sippy cup lids for under $10 -- great deal.   Just shows sippy cups are forever in some version :)

I have a two year old grandson and he still uses a sippy cup, but can also drink out of a straw if you hold the cup for him.  He doesn't understand that you can't mash a paper cup and not get the drink all over him.

It depends on the child but my son stopped using them when he was three.  They are great for keeping cleaner but they are horrible for new teeth.
