I have shopped at goodwill I didn't have a problem with it. Sometimes you find great deals there. But in walmart's defense I have also found 3.00 shirts on the clearance racks at walmart.

hmm, this is a toss up. i've found brand new things
at goodwill &thrift stores that are cheaper than brand
new things at walmart. that goes for shoes, clothes, books,
lamps, everything...

but the convenience of walmart and other discount stores
is nice. when you need something quick, its there, and inexpensive.

i'll say second hand stores though, because i love the hunt!
i also like the whole "one man's trash..."  aspect.

i shop where ever the things are cheap and decent for our family.  why does it matter, if your trying to save money, than you have to do what you have to do to save money.  who cares if someone judges you.  there not the one paying your bills, putting food on the table..

I like both-Walmart is great for stuff that you need everyday-like deodorant or something like that.  It's also good for the clearances on ok clothes and stuff-you can get a decent pair of shoes for $5.  If you want to go for the adventure, though, I love the second hand places!  Garage sales, too-you never know what you're going to find :)

I've never shopped at a second hand store, but I do like Walmart.  Sometimes you find some really good sales/deals.

I shop at both Wal-Mart and second hand stores. I buy all of my workclothes at the second hand stores. I buy most electrical items like can openers, radios, etc. at Wal-Mart because they can be returned if they don't work.

I like second-hand stores for the fun of it, it's so much better sometimes than getting the "cookie cutter" clothes and items that Walmart, Target, etc. offer that everyone has too - especially for kids' clothes. I shop there even when I have plenty of money, because I like the "reuse, recycle" aspect of it too.

I shop at both. Wherever I find something at it's cheapest is where I buy it.

It depends on what you need, we find all kinds of bargans at thrift stores, clothes, dishes, knicknacks, furniture, etc. we even got our patio furniture there. Now when you need products like makeup, shampoo, cleaners, household items, shop a discount store, it is not good to reuse these items.
