Farmer's Markets
« on: September 05, 2017, 09:23:39 am »
I love to go to the Farmer's Markets in my area.  The fruits and vegetables are local and usually so good and fresh!  I hate when we are in the months when the goodies are going to be less and less.  I am a real fruit eater and know they are winding down from their best.

Do you go to your local Farmer's market regularly?  Are they bountiful and interesting?  We have several in my area which are!

My town has a regular Farmer's Market every Sunday but the stuff is too expensive there. Instead we take an 11 mile round trip car ride to an indoor Farmer's Market in another town that has lovely lovely fruits and veggies at about half the price of our local supermarket. It is really worth the extra effort to us.

Only been to a few and I'm only somewhat okay with going to them to buy stuff.

I help my sister-in-law at the farmers market. She  has a lot of fresh veggies. But  the city only lets  local growers  sell so that lets out a lot of  the fruits that could be sold as  the fruit only comes in from out of state here.  But I have been to the farmers market in the big cities and they have all kinds of fruit. Guess our only  grocery store won't let  it happen as it would  run into their business.  the owner also happens to be on the city commission.  I call it greed.

We also have several in our area, they are seasonal here so they will be closing down soon and re-opening in the spring. I like that they have locally grown vegetables!

I love to go to farmer's markets too. I like to walk and see all their foods. I take my own bags  :highfive:

I don't thibk I've been to a farmer's market in years. It's not that I wouldn't love to go to one. I just rarely have time these days with work and everything. Maybe after the baby is born, I will have more chances to go.

I always forget the day the Farmer's Market is going to be there.  I tell myself that the next time, but I think next time has ended.

I love going to these but after Labor Day in the Midwest here are not that many.  Wish we could go all year round or have a indoor one during the winter months.  The produce is so expensive and doesn't taste as good during the winter

They have a farmers market here in our town.  I have not been in a long time but I am glad it is there for everyone that needs them.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe. :)

Farmers Markets are fun.  A great thing for communities to bring onto there streets for farmers and local vendors.  Although it's not an easy process.  Over the course of the last year I've been getting myself prepared for our towns farmers markets (Held sporadically in the winter months as well) I'm not a farmer selling fresh fruits or vegetables but a baker.  And my town has some serious requirements and certifications to pop up a stand.  I've officially completed the final phase of submitting required crediations to the local health department as well as my State Department of Health and can pop up a booth with my goodies.
