May or may not be a spoiler.....

BUT....

If you read the graphic novels, the good guys keep Negan alive & in the cage/prison through the comics, & he actually becomes witty & funny in a twisted kind of a way.

The series doesn't follow the graphic novels exactly (so maybe not a spoiler), or not at all in some cases - like there is no darryl character at all, & Judith dies in her mother's arms back in the prison & Carol died by suicide long ago;  but that's how it goes down in the comics.. Negan is kept in that jail in Alexandria as a memento & to keep his people in line...

I love the Walking Dead, but I like to watch a few of them in a row - so haven't watched the first one yet.  I also like to watch the Talking Dead

I was glad when the Walking Dead came back on, but I'll be even more thrilled when they finally get rid of Negan, don't like that smart, dumb look he has when he talks, too smirky. I wanted Rick to finally end his rein of terror, but hopefully he won't be on the show for too much longer.

I haven't watched it for a few seasons. I kind of keep track of it online but I lost interest for the most part. I do enjoy watching the first 3 seasons on occasion.

I thought it was great show to start out the season.  Rick is back in the saddle again and he's not afraid of Negan.  And neither am I.  Last season I was afraid to watch because Negan was so brutal. I hope those days are over.

I haven't watched the new episode yet. I hope this season is better than last.

I have seasons 1 though 7 on DVD, I'm not able to watch it on TV because we don't get that channel but I love the show!! Well except when the characters I love get killed off :( When Negan took out Abraham and Glenn, I absolutely got furious, then bawled my eyes out. Same with Maggie's dad, Hershel, that was awful :( I could probably watch some episodes on the AMC website, but I'll probably just wait until the season is over and buy it on DVD! Some day I'm going to rewatch it all but no time for that now.

I was rooting for Rick to kill Negan during the season premier but I think Negan will be around for at least this season.  Every show needs a bad guy.

Yeah, I kind of expected it to turn out that way. How else are they going to drag out a season if they kill the big villain right in the first episode?

True... but I mean really, I thought the Governor was bad, and he was, but Negan is downright evil. I hope he goes down suffering with his own Lucille :) I can't wait to watch this season!!

I know what you mean bremer, after last season's opener, I wasn't sure I could handle what was to come either. So many times I caught myself yelling at the TV "Shoot him now Rick!!" or something to that effect!

Ya, I think to progress the story plot they're going to keep Negan around.  I don't really see them killing Negan until maybe near the series finale.  I mean why kill off the main big villain?  It'd be kind of stupid because then you'd need a new one.
