career choices
« on: December 04, 2017, 08:14:58 am »
sometimes, you find what you enjoy doing.
sometimes, you stumble upon an opportunity that develops into a job you like.
my nephew thought he wanted to get into business.
he changed paths a bit and just likes working in an Apple computer store.
A simple startup job can lead to higher chances.

I never dreamed I would one day be working in a hospital after studying Economics in college. I'd be lying if I said I have the perfect job for me, but it works for now and pays my bills.

It can be hard to know what career to pick but I believe in following your dreams and doing everything you can to make it work.

Sometimes you may decide on what career choice you want to pursue.  But then sometimes a career choice may fall into your lap that is most to your liking.

I wish I could afford to go back to college. It'd make finding a career, instead of a minimum wage job, a heck of a lot easier. My perfect job would be just to stay in school for the rest of my life. i would love to attend college again.  :(

I just try to work as hard as I can and let the career take care of itself.

There are so many more options for women now than when I was starting a career.  You either taught or were a nurse!

I am 32.  My grandparents generation worked with one company for a long career.  My parents generation switched jobs a number of times while in the same industry.  My generation is switching industries a number of times.

I think it's important to keep your options open as far as a career goes. I got some advice once that I try to follow when it's practical. And that is, never work somewhere more than three years because after that you're not really learning anything new and the job becomes sedentary. It's served me well.

That can happen. Labor of love is what counts the most. Working long hours at a job you enjoy most gives you a sense of purpose. Working at a job you hate creates a stressful environment.
